This week’s picture of the week is a shot of Durham’s latest addition to the craft beer world, Fullsteam, sampling some of their fine beers at the market this past weekend. Did you know you can pre-order growlers of Fullsteam’s beer and pick them up at the Durham and Carrboro farmers market? Check out their website for the order form and more info on Durham’s newest brewery.

Picture of The Week – Downtown Raleigh “Shimmer Wall”
This week’s picture is a night shot of the Cree Shimmer Wall. It was taken this past weekend while I attended the grand opening of the new Downtown Raleigh Amphitheater. I will have a post up soon with more pictures and my take on the new venue later this week!

Picture of the Week ~ LoneRider’s Peacemaker Pale Ale Now In Bottles!
This week’s picture features the release of LoneRider Brewing Company’s “Peacemaker” Pale Ale in bottles. They recently started bottling this beer and it is starting to show up on local store shelves now. I was lucky enough to stumble upon a few six packs at Taylor’s BP in N. Raleigh this week. My new favorite beer, although I am still partial to their “Shotgun Betty” hefeweizen as well.

Picture of the Week – Cuban Revolution in Durham
This week’s picture was taken while dining at Cuban Revolution in the American Tobacco Campus in Durham this past week. My wife and I had dinner there before seeing Wicked at the Durham Performing Arts Center. It seems like a very popular place with the after work crowd. Pretty decent food with a Cuban flare, and some great beer prices ($3 pints). It is a great pre-show dining location given it is right across the street from the theater.

Picture of the Week – The Roast Grill
I grabbed this week’s shot while walking back to my car along South West Street in downtown Raleigh after the cuegrass festival at The Pitt on Saturday. I haven’t eaten there yet, but I hear The Roast Grill is “the place” to get a hot dog in Raleigh. They have minimalist approach when it comes to hot dogs. They offer limited toppings which include mustard, chili, and slaw. Forget the ketchup, relish, or kraut. You can grab a cold coke, but no iced tea. Cash only. Oh yeah, they will also ask you how much you want them to burn the hot dog. Sounds awesome!
