The North Carolina State Fair returns to Raleigh this week! The fair runs Thursday, Oct. 14 through Sunday, Oct. 24. The gates open each day from 8am to midnight except for Oct 14th (Preview Day) when the gates open at 3pm. Tickets are $8 for adults and $3 for children 12 and under. You can buy advance tickets up until Oct 14th and save a few dollars ($6/adults & $2/children).
In addition to all the rides and fried fair food (my personal favorite is the deep fried twinkie dipped in chocolate) the fair will feature numerous musical acts each night. You can view a full schedule of the performances here. Parking at the fair can be difficult. For that reason it is hghly recommended you take advantage of one of the many park and ride shuttle service locations. Check back here later this month for my pictures from the fair!
Note: Food Lion Hunger Relief Day (Can Day) is on Thursday, October 21. On that day you can exchange four cans of food (any brand) for one free admission ticket.
