The Bulltown Strutters, Durham’s very own New Orleans inspired “Second Line Parade Band” will be performing at The Pinhook this Saturday January 25th at 10:30pm to kickoff fundraising efforts to support efforts to hold the Durham Mardi Gras Parade on March 4th! I play trombone with the band and can tell you first hand it is going to be an exciting fun-filled show bursting with great music and dancing!
Saturday’s show is free and starts at 9pm with music from the Beauty Operators followed by the Bulltown Strutters at 10:30pm. It will be a fun night of entertainment including fire performers, hula hoopers, and a burlesque dancer! Rumor has it there will also be a couple of food trucks parked outside The Pinhook to help feed the hungry crowd.
All Durham Mardi Gras events are provided with no cover charge, funded by donations and uncountable hours of volunteer time. In order to make this possible, please take part in our IndieGoGo fundraising efforts at http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/durham-mardi-gras. The money raised will be used for decorations, beads, city permits and music performances. You can also show your support by purchasing the official 2014 Durham Mardi Gras T-shirts now available and on sale at The Scrap Exchange.
