Halloween is here and one of the best places to visit to see some scary decorations is located in the Historic Oakwood neighborhood of downtown Raleigh. There is a nice background story by the N&O from 2013 about the owner, Jesse Jones, and his inspiration for the the haunted house.
You can find the house on the corner of Oakwood Avenue and East Street. It’s fun to stop by during the day to check out all the detail, but I hear it is even cooler at night when it is lit up. There are even a few motion sensored gadgets that are sure to give you a scare. Apparently a zombie or two are known to show up on Halloween night and pose for pictures with onlookers. Here is a map to the exact location of the house. Happy Halloween!

I think they have a rival with the Sedaris house on Nottingham…. Both scary!
I will have to try to plan a run to go by there! This looks really cool!
Nice! We only saw one decorated house in our neighborhood. It was truly disappointing. I don’t think my two year old minded though. Might have to swing by this house when the kids are older!
It’s great that you are getting ideas from this article as wll as from our argument made
