The Parlour ~ 117 Market Street in Durham
Over the past few months The Parlour in Durham has been closed as they expanded their beloved ice cream shop located at 117 Market Street in downtown Durham. Ice cream lovers rejoiced this past weekend when it was announced that the shop has reopened. I stopped by on Saturday to check out the new space (includes more seating) for a scoop of Vietnamese Coffee & Salted Butter Caramel. It was as fantastic as I remembered! The shop’s current hours are noon-10pm (Tues, Wed, Thurs, Sun) and noon -11pm (Fri & Sat). They are closed on Mondays for the time being.

Now that the weather is warming up you can also find The Parlour bus (their mobile scoop shop) serving their handmade ice cream around the Triangle. Tip: While you’re in the neighborhood visiting The Parlour be sure to walk across the street to the historic Hill Building and pop into the newly opened 21c Museum Hotel. The hotel is home to a small contemporary art museum and the Counting House restaurant, both of which are very cool places to check out.
