The world’s funniest and naughtiest magic show returns to DPAC next week when Mike Tyler and Christopher Wayne aka The Naked Magicians, take the stage in Durham on Friday and Saturday October 5th & 6th.
The show features magic, mirth and more than a touch of mayhem as these two hot and hilarious Aussie magicians say abracadabra and take magic to a whole new level.
This boisterous R-rated magic show strips away the top hats and capes, promising full-frontal illusions. Left without sleeves or pockets, their saucy magic is baffling and entertaining, bringing a new meaning to “now you see it”.

I recently had the opportunity to speak with Mike Tyler about the upcoming show at DPAC. We chatted about how he and Wayne came up with this crazy idea to life in Australia. It was probably one of the funnest interviews I have ever done and makes me thing audiences are in for a real treat when they see these two on stage!
How did you guys come up with the idea of a naked magic show?
Chris and myself were best mates and magicians full-time and had successful careers with our clothes on. This was right around the time the Movie “Magic Mike” came out. With my name being Mike I’d get a lot of stripper related jokes like “How big is your magic wand and can make your clothes disappear?” We were both thinking that we wanted to take magic to an audience who wouldn’t normally attend a magic show and get away from the cliche black hat and cape. So those two things kind of mixed together and we thought what better way to do that than to do a naughty magic show with our sleeves up and our pants down?
What is your typical audience like?
Well you have to be 18 to see our show, obviously, and it is predominantly female. We describe the show as an orgy of magic, comedy and nudity mixed together. It’s the perfect girls’ night out but we also get a lot of guys coming to the show as well both straight and gay guys just looking for a cheeky night out. We love that too!
How do you stay in shape for the show?
Oh it is so hard traveling. We have to be disciplined on the road. When we’re not touring, we work out two or three times a day and we try to work out when we can on the road. Both of us try to do at least one bit of exercise each day to stay in shape.
What are the challenges of doing a magic show naked?
We don’t use any technology in our show, it is all classic magic with slight of hand so obviously that is a bit harder when you don’t have clothes to hide anything. So we have had to modify our show in some regard, but we are naked, and that is a tool of distraction in itself. We have a saying, “good magicians don’t need sleeves, great magicians don’t need pants!”
“The Naked Magicians” perform at the Durham Performing Arts Center on Ocotber 5th and 6th. For tickets visit https://www.dpacnc.com/events/detail/the-naked-magicians-1
I’d like some naked men around that are *actually* magical, and don’t just claim to be!
LOL!
This looks like so much fun! Hope I win!
When I was a kid, all I wanted to be when I grew up was a magician. Had hundreds of magic tricks. As a kid, this would have freaked me out, the idea of nude magicians. But as an adult…I can see magic AND nudity? Sign me up!
I love the Triangle Explorer, thanks for all the cool info you kick out each week. Hey, what can I say, my girlfriends and I would love nothing more than the pleasant distraction from life of sitting back and watching these guys bring the magic and naughty, that’s a bonus, plus Australian, yes please!!
It’s my sister’s birthday and i would love to take her to this show! 🙂
I am a 67 year old prostate cancer survivor. I need some magic and some naughtiness in my life. This show would accomplish both – at a time when I need some smiles and visual entertainment. Thanks!!
My dad entered, so I’m trying to double our chance that we’d get to go and see this together. Looks like it would be a lot of fun!
Congrats @melanieloeffler! You were the randomly selected winner of the tickets to the show at DPAC this Friday. I’ll send you a DM with details!
