If you are looking for a fun way to kickoff the new year I suggest you head to Durham this Friday and catch the band Huzzah perform at the Moon Dog Meadery and Bottle Shop on Broadstreet in downtown Durham. Huzzah is a North Carolina-based six-piece group that plays acoustic, string-centric hot jazz that builds on music from the early days of the swing era. They play dance music from the early 20th century that defines swing. Music starts at 8pm with a beginners dance lesson beforehand at 7:30pm. $10 suggested donation.
Moon Dog looks like a fun and welcoming space that is kid and dog friendly too. They have a wide assortment of mead and beers and NC wines. I’m looking forward to stopping by here soon myself!
