This week’s photo was taken at the Tweetup held at the LoneRider Brewery last night. Over 100 local bloggers, social media gurus, and beer lovers met up to enjoy some great local brew and BBQ!

This week’s picture is a shot of the side entrance to the Person Street Pharmacy in downtown Raleigh. They have been open since 1910 and are the only pharmacy in Raleigh with an old fashioned soda fountain. They have milk shakes and malts too! I plan on doing a full blog post on them in the near future!

This weeks picture was taken on Person Street in Downtown Raleigh earlier this week. It looks like a new pie shop called PieBird will fill the location previously home to Conti’s Italian Market. No word yet on exactly when they plan to open, but I look forward to stopping in when they do and getting a pie on the way home from work! I hope to get some more pics when they open to share in a future blog post!

This weeks picture was taken at Wine 101 in Wake Forest while enjoying one of their free weekly wine tastings. They hold free tastings every Saturday from 2-5pm. In addition to the free tasting they have a wine sampling station with 4 reds and 4 whites ready to sample every day of the week using a prepaid sampling card. They also usually have two craft beers on tap so you can purchase a pint if that is more your style. Wine 101 has friendly and knowledgeable staff and is one is one of my favorite places to buy wine in the Triangle.

This week’s picture was taken at the “Plant A Row” event at Logan’s Trading Company on Saturday. Mayor Meeker and the radio hosts from the “Weekend Gardener” show, Mike Raley and Anne Clapp, were on hand to help kick things off.
“Plant a Row” is an movement to encourage gardeners to plant an extra row of produce each year and donate their surplus to local food banks, soup kitchens and service organizations to help feed America’s hungry. The people at Logan’s were encouraging people to participate by providing a free bag of compost and a packet of seeds. You can still swing by this weekend to pick up your starter kit while supplies last. Then when you have some veggies to donate swing back by Logan’s to drop off your donation for the Interfaith Food Shuttle to pick up.
