Urban Artist Hosting Underground Exhibit in Durham ~ Friday Sept 19th

A one of kind exhibit of works by local artist Tony Waldron is scheduled for this Friday, September 19th at 8pm at 106 Main in Durham. Tony’s work has been shown in galleries around Durham and Raleigh; however this is his first solo exhibit. He wants to provide a totally unique experience for exhibiting his art. The space is not your typical white walled gallery and will provide the perfect setting for viewing his latest works. The exhibit space will only be open to the public for 3 hours before the lights go dim.

This show will take you underground into Tony’s world of art. It will feature five new pieces that have never before been seen by the public, in a space that has not been open to the public for 40 years. For one night only, the owner of 106 Main will open a 123 year old underground room that has been transformed into an exhibit space. Each piece of art will feature a custom built installation that will enhance the viewing experience, and is designed to stimulate your senses and set your mind racing with thoughts and emotions. Come for the experience, but stay for the party.

Continue your Third Friday festivities at street level in the main bar space. 106 Main is a throwback bar reminiscent of times past. The drinks here are made and served with pride, using nothing but the finest ingredients. This place has a great atmosphere and good vibes to spare. If you’ve never been here, this may just be the chill local bar you’ve always been looking for.
