Rise Biscuits & Donuts is expanding to all corners of the Triangle. The first Rise location opened in Durham’s Renaissance Village just behind Southpoint mall back in 2012. Earlier this year they announced plans to franchise which has led to recent news of plans for additional locations throughout the area. As it stands there are currently plans for five additional shops to open over the next year with rumors of even more locations coming soon.
The newest Rise will open on August 22nd in Morrisville at the Park West Village Shopping Center . This will be followed by locations in Raleigh’s Cameron Village and North Raleigh’s Sutton Square later this fall. On Monday local blogger Carpe Durham broke the news on twitter that Rise would also take over the DaisyCakes space on Foster Street adding it’s first shop to downtown Durham. I’ve also heard news via the Triangle Business Journal that there are plans for a location on Main Street in downtown Carrboro.
Rise is popular for both their rotating donut menu and creative breakfast biscuits. They also feature locally roasted coffee from Bean Traders. I have been particularly impressed with their efforts to offer “trace of gluten” donuts at least once a week for customers trying to avoid gluten. As a donut fan I will continue to keep my eye on Rise and where they plan to open shop next. For now you can follow the newest locations on twitter and facebook (links below) for regular updates on their progress and grand opening dates.

OH my gosh that is so exciting. I like Rise a lot, but never make it down that way, and as a result, I’ve only been a handful of times. Excited to get one a little closer!
