Durham’s own Jeddah’s Tea has launched a Kickstarter campaign to open a tea room that will serve as a community space for people to connect and learn about & enjoy top-quality teas from around the world, in Downtown Durham.
Jeddah’s Tea focuses on preparing tea blends from countries that are underrepresented in the American tea market (ex. Somaliland, Senegal, Egypt) which often sparks a curiosity about people from geographies, traditions, and cultures that may be unknown to many in our own.
All of their tea is organic, fair-trade & vegan-friendly. They work directly with farmers from around the world, and source what is available locally as much as possible. They blend all of our teas right here, and aim to present authentic, traditional cups to the community.
For the past 10 months, Jeddah’s Tea has been doing pop-up events all over the Triangle, gained a passionate group of followers. You can currently find them at their temporary “popup” tearoom at 359 Blackwell Street (next to Durham Bull Stadium) – open Monday through Friday from 7am-3pm through the end of May.
